COVID-19 Update

COVID-19 Procedures

HOW WE ARE PROTECTING YOU FROM CORONAVIRUS CONCERNS

The families we serve are always our top priority.  During confusing and concerning times such as the current COVID-19 event, we want to share our plans with you.  We want to assure you that we are all in this together.

First, we are closely monitoring and following all guidelines and Mandates by the Office of the Governor.

As of Friday, March 13, Governor Roy Cooper, Governor of North Carolina, issued an Executive Order (Executive Order No. 117) which prohibits mass gatherings of more than one hundred (100) people in the State of North Carolina. On Monday, March 23, 2020, the Governor has reduced that number to (50) people. We are prepared to offer families the choice of online viewing of the funeral by family and friends or holding a private service at the time of death followed by a public memorial service at a later date.

(If found in violation for the 50 person maximum, the offender will be charged with a Class 2 Misdemeanor.)

We have set in place new measures to help protect and accommodate the elderly, sick and members of the public. We will make every effort to accommodate families in making arrangements and conducting services in any capacity needed to ensure their safety and comfort while honoring their loved one.

If a family is uncomfortable making arrangements in person, arrangements can be made remotely, either online or by teleconference.

• We encourage the use of our online guest books for condolence messages to the family.

• We have placed reminders throughout our funeral homes to ask that physical contact, such as shaking hands or hugging, be limited with family members.

• Our large gathering spaces will be set up to allow social distancing.

• We continue, as always, to provide professional hand sanitizer stations throughout our facilities and have enacted extra cleaning in all public areas.

Again, we are here to serve, protect and honor each family as we have been for over 118 years.  If you have any questions or concerns, please feel to call James Alexander or Kimberly Kelsey at  (704) 636-2711.

Please bare with us through this trying and unprecedented time. This information will be updated as we ourselves receive updates.
